This guide provides a foolproof method for boiling and peeling eggs to guarantee perfect results every time.
Ingredients:
- Fresh eggs (as many as needed)
- Water
- Ice
Instructions:
Boiling the Eggs:
- Place the eggs in a single layer at the bottom of a pot.
- Add enough cold water to cover the eggs by at least an inch.
- Heat the water over high heat until it reaches a vigorous boil.
- Once the water boils, cover the pot and turn off the heat.
- Let the eggs sit in the hot water for 12 minutes (adjust the time slightly based on egg size).
Cooling and Peeling:
- Fill a bowl with ice water.
- Immediately transfer the cooked eggs into the ice water and let them cool for at least 5 minutes.
- Gently tap each egg on a hard surface to crack the shell, then peel starting from the wider end, where an air pocket is often found.
- Rinse the peeled eggs under cold water to remove any remaining shell pieces.
