SIMON Cowell has been brought to tears after a \u201cperfect\u201d AGT audition.<\/p>\n

At the end of the season 18 premiere, the last act was the Mzansi Youth Choir from South Africa.<\/p>\n

Simon, 63, asked how the group started, and a member explained that the founders created the choir to help change the lives of young people.<\/p>\n

When the choir started to perform, their song choice shocked the judges.<\/p>\n

They sang a song called It\u2019s Okay by the singer and songwriter Nightbirde.<\/p>\n

Nightbirde appeared on America\u2019s Got Talent in 2021 for performing It\u2019s Okay at her audition \u2013 where she received a golden buzzer.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, she had to leave the competition because she was struggling to win her battle with cancer.<\/p>\n

The AGT legend passed away in February 2022 at the age of 31.<\/p>\n

As the choir began to sing, Simon and Sofia Vergara, 50, looked at each other with pleasantly surprised expressions.<\/p>\n

Howie Mandel, 67, looked thrilled to be hearing the song performed on the AGT stage once again, and Heidi Klum, 49, immediately recognized the melody.<\/p>\n

By the time it was over, the host of AGT\u00a0Terry Crews, 54, was wiping away tears.<\/p>\n

LET\u2019S HEAR FROM THE JUDGES<\/h2>\n

Sofia said it was a \u201csurprise to hear that song,\u201d and their voices were \u201cfantastic.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also told the group that they had the \u201cperfect\u00a0AGT\u00a0audition.\u201d<\/p>\n

Howie added, \u201cI\u2019ll always remember Nightbirde, and to see that it touched people on the other side of the globe \u2013 unbelievable.\u201d<\/p>\n

When it was Simon\u2019s turn to speak to the group, he asked why they chose to perform It\u2019s Okay.<\/p>\n

One of the group\u2019s leaders said, \u201cWhen we heard Nightbirde sing the song on this stage, we were very inspired and touched by her story that we decided to record the song.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo our surprise, she responded so beautifully. This song has been such a pillar of strength for us as a choir through difficult times.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe just want to continue her legacy.\u201d<\/p>\n

At this point, the audience had begun to chant\u00a0\u201cgolden buzzer\u201d\u00a0at\u00a0the judges.<\/p>\n

After that answer, Simon couldn\u2019t continue. He stared down at his lap and started to breathe heavily while Sofia rubbed his shoulder.<\/p>\n

He then said, \u201cI know how much this would have\u2026would have meant to her,\u201d and in the middle of that sentence, he started to cry.<\/p>\n

Everyone, including the performers, had tears in their eyes, and the audience continued to chant \u201cgolden buzzer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Simon then made a suggestion that would change AGT\u2019s history.<\/p>\n

For the first time in AGT history, the audience was given the power of the\u00a0golden buzzer\u00a0\u2013 and they decided to give it to the Mzansi Youth Choir.<\/p>\n

HOW TO AUDITION<\/h2>\n

While auditions may be closed for this current season, fans are eager to know when they\u2019ll have their\u00a0next big shot\u00a0on the\u00a0show.<\/p>\n

Each year,\u00a0America\u2019s Got Talent\u00a0sees hundreds of amazing acts from\u00a0singers\u00a0to magicians.<\/p>\n

In order to get on the show, performers will have to audition.<\/p>\n

However, the process is more than just showing up and showing the judges what they\u2019ve got.<\/p>\n
