Vince Gill<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Amy Grant\u2019s<\/strong> daughter, Corinna, joined her dad on stage at Nashville\u2019s \u201cMother Church,\u201d The Ryman Auditorium for an emotional duet that honored her mom on Friday, August 5.<\/p>\n

Corinna and her dad, Gill sang \u201cWhen My Amy Prays,\u201d which appears on Gill\u2019s 2019 album,\u00a0Okie.\u00a0<\/em>However, Corinna changed the lyrics to \u201cWhen My Mama Prays.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re gonna do this song that I wrote for my wife, Amy,\u201d Gill said introducing the performance at the Ryman. \u201cWe haven\u2019t been doing it much, but because of her accident and everything she\u2019s been going through, we\u2019ve been thinking a lot about her and I thought how sweet it would be for her youngest [child] to sing the song [that] I wrote for her. Please welcome my kiddo, Corinna Gill,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Gill and his daughter Corinna performed the song backed by a band, with Corinna becoming emotional as she sang the song\u2019s title lyric. Corinna also changed the words from \u201cwhen my Amy prays\u201d to \u201cwhen my mama prays,\u201d noting that she is \u201cjust like [her] dad\u201d when it comes to faith. Corinna and her dad, Gill received a standing ovation from the audience.<\/p>\n

The performance from Gill and Corrina honored Amy Grant, who is recovering from injuries sustained from a bicycle accident that took place in late July.<\/p>\n

Grant was hospitalized following the bicycle accident in which she sustained cuts, lacerations, and bruises. Despite her injuries and being knocked unconscious for 10 to 15 minutes, Grant was in stable condition and was eventually sent home to recover.<\/p>\n

As a result of the accident, she was forced to\u00a0postpone several concerts, which will now take place in April and June of next year.<\/p>\n

Back in 2021, Gill discussed how he and wife, Grant\u2019s approaches to faith differ with\u00a0CMT<\/em>\u00a0on\u00a0Hit Story<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe song is a testament to my wife and how much I care about her,\u201d Gill shared. \u201cIt\u2019s one of my favorite vocals that I\u2019ve ever done.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe whole record came from a place of honesty,\u201d he continued, admitting, \u201cThe beauty in this song is the vulnerability I paint myself in and in being honest enough to say, \u2018while you may assume I\u2019m something because of being married to this very, very prominent Christian singer, my life isn\u2019t quite like that. To me, it\u2019s a really neat testament to we all don\u2019t have to be the same so much to get along and like each other.\u201d<\/p>\n
