At the judges\u2019 request, Ethan Senger brought his mom into the\u00a0American Idol<\/em>\u00a0audition room for a duet. What happened next was so touching it brought\u00a0Carrie Underwood\u00a0to tears.<\/strong><\/p>\n

24-year-old Senger grew up in a musical family. His dad was a guitar player and his mom is a singer. Senger himself is now a professional musician, and he sings with his mom on occasion.<\/p>\n

His mama waited outside the audition room as he sang\u00a0Keith Urban\u2018s #1 hit from 2002, \u201cSomebody Like You.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0The track is naturally energetic, but\u00a0Luke Bryan\u00a0felt like Senger was rushing too much.<\/p>\n

Bryan interrupted the performance several times, first telling Senger to \u201copen [his] mouth a little bit.<\/em>\u201d Then, he jumped in to say, \u201cJust slow it down a hair\u2026let\u2019s hear you really sing this thing<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Senger listened to Bryan\u2019s feedback and slowed down so the judges could fully grasp the depth of his talent. They were impressed and made that obvious when they spoke to him:<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m sorry, I started yelling a little bit at you,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>Bryan apologized.\u00a0\u201cBut listen, dude, you\u2019ve got cool, cool things going on.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Lionel Richie\u00a0agreed, saying,\u00a0\u201cYou have some true PO-tential.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Then, Bryan asked Senger if he\u2019d like to bring his mom in so they could sing together. As he walked away to get her, Carrie Underwood thanked Bryan for giving Senger some direction during his audition.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you for asking him to do more,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>Underwood said.\u00a0\u201cThere was nothing wrong\u2026I needed more right.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Ethan Senger Makes Carrie Underwood Cry After Singing With His Mom<\/h3>\n

Senger brought his \u201cnervous\u201d mom into the room, and the judges greeted her warmly. He said they often sing Glen Hansford and Marketa Irglova\u2019s \u201cFalling Slowly,\u201d so that\u2019s the song they performed at that moment.<\/p>\n

The judges looked on in awe as the mother-son duo delivered their heart-tugging duet.\u00a0Underwood\u00a0had tears in her eyes\u00a0as she watched them sing.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Once the song ended, all three judges rose to their feet to give Senger and his mom a well-earned\u00a0standing ovation.<\/p>\n

As they offered their commentary, Underwood confessed she struggled to keep her emotions in check. She started crying as she said:<\/p>\n
