A \u201cFootloose 2.0\u201d remake in 2011 was made with Blake Shelton singing the soundtrack. On October 8, 2011, the country singer premiered the music video of the classic soundtrack \u201cFootloose\u201d in Shaun Silva\u2019s direction.\u00a0Along with\u00a0Shelton\u2019s chart-toppers, the song was featured on his sixth studio album,\u00a0Red River Blue,\u00a0<\/em>as a bonus track. This charted at No. 63 on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs.<\/p>\n

When the trailer for the 2011 reboot of the legendary film made its rounds,\u00a0many 80s fans were dissatisfied. The news of a country remake of\u00a0Kenny Loggins\u2019 original soundtrack\u00a0also left a bad taste in their mouths, but it wouldn\u2019t hurt to give Shelton\u2019s rendition a chance.<\/p>\n

Veteran The Voice coach singer put his country twist to the 80s hit with a smooth, twangy performance in an upbeat tune. \u201cIn this instance, you have to remove yourself from it and step into the role of what\u2019s best for the movie and that particular scene.
