It\u2019s her first time through the\u00a0American Idol<\/em> mill for Carrie Underwood, and the pressure is getting to her, almost resulting in a nervous breakdown.<\/p>\n

To be a judge on\u00a0American Idol<\/em>\u00a0you have to be willing to cut the fat. Not everyone can get through to Hollywood. Only the best can progress. But, Carrie Underwood is just too nice to say no. During the early stages of the competition, she has been letting a lot through.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the early stages, Lionel Richie told of how Carrie Underwood was struggling to let people down. \u201cI have to tell you, Carrie\u2019s biggest nightmare was, as long as you can say, \u2018Oh my God, you go through! Oh my God, you go through! Fantastic! Oh, you go through!’\u201d<\/p>\n

If the contestant made her cry, or gasp, which isn\u2019t difficult, they were through. But, eventually, things had to change. They had to have a word with her.<\/p>\n

Lionel revealed that they had to set things straight. Not everyone can be a winner. \u201cI\u2019m telling you, she said, \u2018Oh, he\u2019s so cute.\u2019 I said, \u2018Carrie, do what you have to do.\u2019 \u2018She\u2019s so nice.\u2019 \u2018Carrie, do what you have to do.\u2019 And then finally she said, \u2018I\u2019m gonna have to tell you\u2026. no. Not right now. Not now.’\u201d<\/p>\n

So, it was time for Carrie Underwood to start being a bit stricter, and it almost gave her a nervous breakdown. \u201cWe were waiting, because she\u2019s gotta tell someone \u2018No.\u2019 and she almost had a nervous breakdown.\u201d<\/p>\n

Part of the judging learning curve for Carrie Underwood is coming in the form of being firm but fair. If she wants to have a team full of the best of the best, she needs to be tough. It is a difficult thing to tell someone that this isn\u2019t their year, but it has to be done.<\/p>\n
