The 34-year-old country superstar first met Jacob during her meet and greet before the show, where he gave her a heartfelt handwritten note. In the note, he shared that the songs from her latest album,\u00a0hummingbird<\/em>, had given him hope in his fight against cancer. However, he also revealed that his treatment hadn\u2019t worked and admitted he didn\u2019t think he\u2019d make it to the concert. Thanks to his nurses, who believed he would, they surprised him with a ticket so he could attend.<\/p>\n

\u201cI met someone very special tonight in my meet and greet, who gave me a note, his name is Jacob,\u201d Pearce told the crowd from the stage. \u201cJacob told me he was diagnosed last year with Stage 3 cancer. If I get this wrong, please tell me.
