John Foster<\/strong>, an 18-year-old college student from Addis, Louisiana, brought a taste of his home state to the\u00a0American Idol<\/em> audition room with Cajun food and a dream to pursue both music and medicine.<\/p>\n

John Foster Brings Gift Of Cajun Food To\u00a0American Idol\u00a0<\/em>Judges<\/h2>\n

Foster entered the audition room, bringing a piece of his home state with him\u2014small red coolers packed with Cajun food such as Jerky and Boudin from South Louisiana.<\/p>\n

The 18-year-old college student from Addis, Louisiana, greeted the\u00a0Idol<\/em>\u00a0judges and shared details about his current studies and his aspirations for the future. \u201cStudying biology right now, hopefully on a pre-med track to go to medical school. I\u2019m a passion for cancer treatment, so the dream is to be a singing oncologist,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

Auditioned With \u201cDon\u2019t Rock The Jukebox\u201d by Alan Jackson<\/h2>\n

Wearing a cowboy hat, flannel shirt and blue jeans, John Foster then went on to offer a stunning cover of \u201cDon\u2019t Rock The Jukebox\u201d by Alan Jackson.<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t rock the jukebox\/ I wanna hear some Jones\/ \u2018Cause my heart ain\u2019t ready\/ For the Rolling Stones\/ I don\u2019t feel like rockin\u2019\/ Since my baby\u2019s gone\/ So don\u2019t rock the jukebox\/ Play me a country song,\u201d Foster sang on the first verse of the iconic country hit.<\/p>\n

Following his performance of the classic Alan Jackson tune, Carrie Underwood request that Foster would perform a different song that would allow his vocals to be showcased better. \u201cAlan Jackson was my first concert in 1994. I was 11. I love me some Alan. Do you perhaps have another song that kind of showcases your vocals a little more?\u201d Underwood asked.<\/p>\n
