Among those in attendance was Alan Jackson.<\/p>\n<p>Alan Jackson\u00a0was invited to join the Grand Old Opry in 1991, one year after he first performed in the iconic circle. He sang \u201cHere In The Real World,\u201d the title track of his debut album, for his first Opry performance in 1990.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Alan Jackson : Here in the Real World &quot;Live From The Grand Ole Opry&quot; (Mar 1990) *TNN*\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/COu1ufMheMY\" width=\"350\" height=\"235\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-origwidth=\"350\" data-origheight=\"235\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Roy Acuff and Randy Travis welcomed Alan to the sacred family the following year.<\/p>\n<p>Immediately after his official induction, Jackson visited talk show Nashville Now where he talked to guest host Charlie Chase about the memorable moment.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cHard to believe 6 years ago I was carrying a bucket of mail over there every day for about $5 an hour,\u201d Alan said, adding his feelings about being a new member. \u201cIt\u2019s an honor. I\u2019m ready proud because it\u2019s a great institution. I don\u2019t know if country music would exist without it.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>He told Chase that he almost got choked up when joining the Opry because he was so excited and proud.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cYou think about the people who have stood on that piece of wood that came out of the Ryman Auditorium. Jackson\u2019s appearance was especially poignant due to the fact that he is making few public appearances outside of his\u00a0final concert tour.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChattahoochee\u201d was released as the third single from Jackson\u2019s third studio album,\u00a0<em>A Lot About Livin\u2019 (And A Little \u2018Bout Love)<\/em>.
