The 1960s marked a massive decade for\u00a0Dolly Parton\u00a0when it came to her career and even her personal life. For starters, she released her debut album,\u00a0Hello, I\u2019m Dolly<\/em>, in 1967 and married her husband, Carl Dean, the year before. Over the decades that followed, Dolly went on to release dozens of albums, star in hit films, and even create a theme park around her likeness. A true icon when it comes to music and business, Dolly recently lost her husband, who passed away at 82 years old. Having shared a marriage for six decades, the singer shared how she will always keep him close.<\/p>\n

Staying away from the spotlight after Dean\u2019s passing, Dolly attended the 2025 opening day at Dollywood on March 14th. Excited to see fans, she shared a few fond memories of her late husband and how he loved going to the theme park. Speaking with\u00a0Knox News<\/em>, she admitted, \u201cI\u2019m doing better than I thought I would.\u201d<\/p>\n

With Dean passing on March 3rd, Dolly continued to come to terms with his death. \u201cI\u2019ve been with him 60 years. So I\u2019m going to have to re-learn some of the things that we\u2019ve done. But I\u2019ll keep him always close.\u201d While the cause of Dean\u2019s death remains uncertain, the singer noted how he \u201csuffered\u201d during the final years of his life. Thankful he is no longer in pain, she said, \u201cI\u2019m at peace knowing he\u2019s at peace, but that don\u2019t keep me from missing him and loving him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Carl Dean Helped Dolly Parton When It Came To Dollywood<\/h3>\n

As for his love for Dollywood,\u00a0Dolly\u00a0revealed Dean would go to the theme park undercover, even buying his own ticket. \u201cHe bought his own ticket \u2014 stood in line and got his ticket. He didn\u2019t want somebody giving him a ticket \u2019cause he was Dolly\u2019s husband.\u201d She continued, \u201cHe\u2019d come up to East Tennessee to see some of my family and people that he loved of my people. And so he\u2019d just think, \u2018Well, I think I\u2019ll go to Dollywood, check things out.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Able to see the park from the perspective of a regular guest, Dean even offered feedback to Dolly. \u201cHe wasn\u2019t coming to criticize, but he would notice things and he would say, \u2018You might want to bring this to their attention.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

While not a fan of the spotlight, Dean was a fan of Dolly as the country singer insisted his passing caused a \u201chole\u201d in her heart.<\/p>\n
