To many, Carrie Underwood is an unassuming singer who\u2019s country through and through. Her recent antics on\u00a0American Idol<\/em>, however, has flipped the script. She\u2019s a little wilder than most expect.<\/p>\n

American Idol<\/em>\u00a0aired season 23\u2019s first episode a couple of days ago. Although it\u2019s only Carrie Underwood\u2019s first day on the job, she\u2019s already made quite the impression. When auditioner Insite stepped up to perform \u201cBodies\u201d by Drowning Pool, Underwood took the chance to support him.<\/p>\n

And support him she did.<\/p>\n

In the viral clip,\u00a0Carrie Underwood\u00a0stands next to Insite and hilariously (and impressively) provides backing vocals and busts some metal moves.<\/p>\n

The auditioner, whose real name is Kobyn Melton, initially performed\u00a0Korn\u2019s \u201cFreak on a Leash.\u201d But he wanted to impress the judges further, and Underwood decided to join him as he sang \u201cBodies.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although the attention is on the rockin\u2019 country girl, I just want to take a moment to appreciate how\u00a0awesome<\/em> Insite is. His vocals were absolutely stellar. I can\u2019t believe we may finally have a metal singer get far in the competition. As a power metal fan myself, you have my full support, Insite.<\/p>\n

Longtime fans of the singer may not be totally surprised to see Underwood jamming out to some metal. Not only is she a bit of a metalhead, but also simply knows\u00a0lots<\/em>\u00a0of music across the board.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was high school for me\u2026. I\u2019ve even crowd surfed, people, okay,\u201d Carrie Underwood said upon returning to her seat. Just to let people know that she\u2019s a little crazier than people may take her for.<\/p>\n
