Carrie Underwood<\/strong>\u00a0embraced her inner rockstar when she teamed up with\u00a0Insite<\/strong>, an 18-year-old from Florida, on\u00a0American Idol<\/em>\u00a0for a heavy metal cover of \u201cBodies\u201d by\u00a0Drowning Pool<\/strong><\/p>\n

Insite Auditions For\u00a0American Idol<\/em>\u00a0With \u201cFreak On A Leash\u201d By Korn<\/h2>\n

Insite introduced himself to Idol judges Lionel Richie, Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan, letting them know that he is a drum and vocal instructor at School of Rock in Naples, Florida. \u201cSo I assume you do, indeed, rock?\u201d Underwood asked, questioning Insite, who is visibly a rocker.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was hoping to kind of change things up and blow the roof off of this place, see what I can do,\u201d Insite told the Idol judges prior to his audition, adding that he would be auditioning with a cover of \u201cFreak On A Leash\u201d by Korn.<\/p>\n

His song choice brought a big smile to Carrie Underwood\u2019s face as an avid fan of rock music. \u201cYou\u2019ve got the hair for it,\u201d Underwood joked as the contestant took his hat off, unveiling long brown hair to head bang with. His performance of the Korn hit found Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan confused, but got Underwood singing along.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, did you guys enjoy that?\u201d Insite asked the Idol judges after he concluded his Korn cover.<\/p>\n

Lionel Richie quickly chimed in, \u201cMan, we need that right center stage. I want Carrie to do the duet. She knew every word. Who are you? Who are you?\u201d Richie continued, \u201cfirst of all, I am enjoying this, but I mean, I don\u2019t know how we fit you in Disney Night. I just can\u2019t figure that out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Luke Bryan then added, \u201cYou know what? We\u2019ve had people come in and do rock, but you kind of have you own little thing, but I still don\u2019t know vocally.\u201d<\/p>\n

Underwood Then Joined Insite For Cover Of Drowning Pool\u2019s \u201cBodies\u201d<\/h2>\n

Carrie Underwood went on to request a \u201csofter\u201d song that would better showcase his vocals. However, Insite didn\u2019t have a song in mind that was softer, but actually another song that was even heavier: \u201cBodies\u201d by Drowning Pool.<\/p>\n

Underwood then joined Insite on the American Idol logo in the center of the audition room to perform \u201cBodies\u201d with the contestant.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s do this Carrie,\u201d Insite said as Underwood stood beside him. Insite launched into his heavy metal cover of Drowning Pool\u2019s \u201cBodies\u201d as Underwood danced and traded verses with him. Following their performance together, Richie and Bryan cheered the pair on.<\/p>\n
