What he didn\u2019t expect, however, is that Clarkson would jump in to sing the song with him.<\/p>\n<div class=\"in-article-oop-container\">\n<div class=\"tsm-ad tsm-ad-oop\" aria-label=\"advertisement\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?height=314&amp;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FKellyClarksonShow%2Fvideos%2F456719929746688%2F&amp;show_text=false&amp;width=560&amp;t=0\" width=\"560\" height=\"314\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-origwidth=\"560\" data-origheight=\"314\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cAre you gonna sing with me?!\u201d Shelton asked before the performance. \u201cMaybe!\u201d Clarkson replied. \u201cI\u2019ve never heard you sing on this show, so that\u2019s cool,\u201d Shelton deadpanned in response.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, Clarkson sings quite a lot on her talk show: Most notably, she performs epic cover songs as part of the show\u2019s \u201cKellyoke\u201d segment, even including one performance of a Shelton song, \u201cWho Are You When I\u2019m Not Looking.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As he launched into his \u201cAustin\u201d performance, Shelton handled the first verse alone, with Clarkson jumping in to provide soft vocal harmonies in the chorus. At the final line\u00a0\u2014 \u201c<em>I still love you<\/em>\u201d\u00a0\u2014 Shelton pointed to Clarkson and let her take it away solo, with the crowd erupting into cheers as they concluded their performance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know Blake fans already know this, but you gotta listen to the whole song, because in that last chorus\u2026.it\u2019s so good, it\u2019s so good,\u201d Clarkson told the audience, referring to the classic twist at the end of Shelton\u2019s hit song.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to being mutual fans and friends, Shelton and Clarkson have spent time coaching\u00a0<em>The Voice<\/em>\u00a0together.
