I wouldn\u2019t trade the last 50 years for nothing on this earth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After tying the knot in 1966, Dean, a businessman, did not attend events with Parton. In fact, the singer only shared a few photos with her spouse over the years. Parton\u00a0told\u00a0<em>People<\/em> in 1977 that was because Dean was \u201csort of shy and quiet.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, Dean, who inspired the track \u201cJolene,\u201d always supported Parton from the sidelines.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s always that safety, that security, that strength,\u201d Parton told\u00a0<em>Knox News<\/em>\u00a0of her husband last year. \u201cHe\u2019s a good man, and we\u2019ve had a good life and he\u2019s been a good husband.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s for that reason that the pair wound up being a perfect match.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_42-0\">\u201cI always joke and laugh when people ask me, \u2018What\u2019s the key to my long marriage and lasting love?\u2019 I always say \u2018Stay gone!\u2019 There\u2019s a lot of truth to that.
