Country Artists Participate In Memorial Day Tradition<\/h2>\n

In 2019, country and bluegrass singer\u00a0Alison Krauss\u00a0delivered an angelic rendition of \u201cAmazing Grace\u201d during an annual event that carries a lot of meaning.<\/p>\n

For the past several decades, singers of all genres have come together for one important purpose.\u00a0To honor America\u2019s fallen heroes.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On the last Sunday in May, these artists unite to film what has become known as the\u00a0National Memorial Day Concert<\/em>. The free concert takes place on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, D.C., and airs on PBS.<\/p>\n

Country stars have often\u00a0been asked to perform at the concert.<\/strong>\u00a0Those who have songs dedicated to the military,\u00a0such as Trace Adkins, are even more likely to be invited.<\/p>\n

Adkins once appeared at the concert to sing his powerful song\u00a0\u201cArlington,\u201d\u00a0which tells the story of a fallen Marine whose final resting place is in Arlington National Cemetery.<\/p>\n

Another country artist who participated in the\u00a0National Memorial Day Concert<\/em>\u00a0in the past is\u00a0Scotty McCreery. His song \u201cThe Dash\u201d tells the story of another fallen hero.<\/p>\n

In 2019, Justin Moore was called to participate in the concert as one of the representatives of country music.<\/strong>\u00a0He performed his heartbreaking song \u201cThe Ones That Didn\u2019t Make It Back Home,\u201d which recognizes all military members, first responders, and others who never returned home.<\/p>\n
