Kotb, 60, who stepped down from her on-screen role alongside\u00a0Jenna Bush Hager<\/strong>\u00a0in January and moved her children\u00a0Haley<\/strong>, 7,\u00a0and\u00a0Hope<\/strong>, 5, to an expansive home in Bronxville, NY, recently launched a new wellness brand, Joy 101, which allows people to achieve more grounded and calming lifestyles.<\/p>\n

And she\u2019s now ready to kick it into full gear by making her large office space her own, tapping Gaines to turn it into an uplifting, \u201cairy, and free\u201d environment.<\/p>\n

Kotb revealed that her new workplace would be getting a makeover in a clip shared on Instagram, in which she noted that the entire renovation process would be documented and shown in Gaines\u2019 new series, \u201cMini Reni.\u201d<\/p>\n

The former TV host noted that she could \u201cimagine myself, like, walking through the door here and seeing something happen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kotb added that she wants the space to \u201cfeel uplifting and airy and free.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI was like, \u2018I don\u2019t know anything about spaces.\u2019 And I was thinking, \u2018Who would I call who could help me? Who would know?\u2019 And only one name popped in, and it was, like, clear as day, and it was Joanna,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Gaines\u2014who previously shed light on her decision to take on the show \u201cMini Reni\u201d without her husband,\u00a0Chip<\/strong>\u2014revealed that she is focusing on ensuring the space feels \u201cspecial\u201d because it will be the \u201cepicenter\u201d of Kotb\u2019s brand.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs I stepped into that space for the first time, I thought, it\u2019s like the perfect template for a \u2018mini reni\u2019 in that it\u2019s white walls. It\u2019s very simple, and all I need to do now is build on those layers, that story, and all the pretty stuff,\u201d the HGTV reality lead said.<\/p>\n

The news of their collab comes just one day after Kotb confessed that she decided to quit the Big Apple because her daughter Hope had been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.<\/p>\n

During a May 28 appearance on \u201cToday,\u201d Kotb explained there was another reason behind her decision, conceding that she wanted to spend more time with her daughter, rather than worrying about her health constantly because she was away from her.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs anyone with a child who has Type 1 [diabetes], especially a little kid, you\u2019re constantly watching, you\u2019re constantly monitoring, you\u2019re constantly checking, which is what I did all the time when I was [on the \u2018Today\u2019 show]. You\u2019re distracted,\u201d she shared.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou just get a priority check in your life. I can be here and sweating what\u2019s happening to Hope in the morning and in the night, or I can be there and feel relief that I can see.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kotb first revealed that her younger daughter was struggling with a health issue in March 2023, when she explained that Hope had been hospitalized for an undisclosed condition.<\/p>\n

Less than two years later, Kotb decided to move her family to Bronxville, NY, where she purchased a stunning $2.9 million property just a short walk from her kids\u2019 school.<\/p>\n

Speaking to\u00a0Today.com\u00a0ahead of her last day on the show, Kotb opened up about her desire to embrace a new routine with her kids at the four-bedroom, five-bathroom, center-hall Colonial.<\/p>\n

She was excited to have a more \u201cnormal\u201d day-to-day regimen after years of early mornings, she explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m just going to let us be a family with a normal rhythm of life. See what we become,\u201d the on-air celebrity, who was\u00a0replaced by\u00a0Craig Melvin<\/strong>, said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m going to let [my daughters] take more trips and stay up a little later because part of the reason I put them to bed at that hour is because I\u2019ve got to go to bed. I\u2019m like, \u2018Goodnight! Everyone\u2019s going to bed.\u2019 They\u2019re like, \u2018It\u2019s 6:30!\u2019 I\u2019m like, \u2018Yeah, lights out!’\u201d<\/p>\n

Kotb said in August that she had a vision when it came to finding the perfect family home, revealing in an episode of \u201cToday\u201d that she wanted to create a \u201cwarm and cozy\u201d environment where her children could relax and find sanctuary.<\/p>\n

She added in an interview with People: \u201cI want my kids to feel grass on their feet, and play in the yard, and ride bikes down the street, and run up and down the stairs.\u201d<\/p>\n

In October, just a few months after her move, Kotb further shared how moving to the suburbs had helped Hope to overcome her severe health issues\u2014albeit without disclosing what those issues were.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re in a place where Hope is thriving,\u201d noted Kotb. \u201cShe\u2019s improving, we\u2019re watching her, and I think as time goes on, we\u2019ll have a better handle on it, but we\u2019re already seeing great differences.<\/p>\n
