The U.S. Army Celebrates 250 Years<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

For the first time in more than 30 years, a\u00a0military parade took over the streets of Washington, D.C.\u00a0on Saturday, June 14th. To celebrate the U.S. Army\u2019s 250th birthday, an estimated 6,600 troops marched down Constitution Avenue NW, between 15th Street and 23rd Street.<\/p>\n

The last military parade in the nation\u2019s Capitol was in 1991 to celebrate the victory in the Gulf War. Ahead of the Army 250 Parade,\u00a0President Donald Trump\u00a0shared in a video statement that the event would be a\u00a0\u201ccelebration, one like you\u2019ve never seen before.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Alongside the troops were various military vehicles and tanks that promenaded down the parade route as paratroopers descended and military aircraft flew overhead. An estimated 200,000 spectators gathered to see the once-in-a-lifetime spectacle.<\/p>\n

June 14th is Flag Day in the United States, as well as President Trump\u2019s birthday.<\/p>\n

Lee Greenwood Performs In Washington, D.C.<\/h2>\n

Accomplished vocalist Lee Greenwood has been invited to perform in the U.S. Capitol many times during his career. His iconic song, \u201cGod Bless The U.S.A.,\u201d has become a patriotic anthem and is widely used at holiday celebrations, political gatherings, sporting events, and more.<\/p>\n

Originally penned in 1983, the powerful song has since been\u00a0certified 2x Platinum\u00a0by the RIAA.<\/p>\n

In January of this year, he was accompanied by the U.S. Marine Corps band as he sang \u201cGod Bless The U.S.A.\u201d at the\u00a0inauguration of President Trump. Lee had previously performed the tune at Trump\u2019s 2017 inauguration and for George H.W. Bush in 1989.<\/p>\n

The Grammy Award-winner took the stage in front of a crowd of more than 100,000 people after the conclusion of the Army 250 Parade. As he performed, he wished President Donald Trump a happy birthday.<\/p>\n
