Courtesy of Hunt Family<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_11-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">Jane was one of the at least\u00a027 campers and counselors\u00a0who lost their lives at Camp Mystic during the recent flooding tragedy.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_13-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">Margaret tells PEOPLE that Jane\u2019s body was found alongside Camp Mystic owner\u00a0Dick Eastland, who died in the floods while trying to\u00a0save the lives of campers.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_15-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">According to Margaret, it had been Jane\u2019s first year at Camp Mystic. She wanted to attend the camp because \u201cshe wanted to be with her cousins,\u201d whom she had been \u201cvery close\u201d with, Margaret adds.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_17-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">The grieving relative says Jane\u2019s family later learned she had been a source of comfort for other campers while attending Camp Mystic before her death.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re now hearing stories about how some of the other campers were homesick, and that Janie was counseling them and telling them not to cry,\u201d Margaret says, adding of Jane: \u201cShe loved camp for the five days she was there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_21-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">Jane was remembered in her obituary as \u201cthe heartbeat of her family,\u201d who was \u201cadventurous, kind and charitable\u201d to others.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_23-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">Her family added that she \u201cwill be remembered for her perpetual smile and the sheer joy she brought to everyone around her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_25-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">Margaret says Jane loved art and wanted to be an artist when she grew up. Courtesy of Hunt Family<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_28-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">Margaret says Jane also loved singing in her school\u2019s choir, and her favorite song to sing was \u201cGo Tell It on the Mountain,\u201d which her cousins plan to sing at her funeral to commemorate her.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_32-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">Jane\u2019s parents, Davin and Anne Lindsey Hunt, are \u201ctaking comfort in small things, and the community has surrounded them with love,\u201d Margaret tells PEOPLE.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_34-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">\u201cIt\u2019s hard on them, of course,\u201d she continues. \u201cI tell people when they ask me what they can pray for, I say pray for strength for Davin and Lindsey, not today, but in the days, weeks, months and years to come, because they\u2019re going to need it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_36-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">Margaret adds that her family has been able to find joy in reading letters that Jane wrote while at camp, before tragedy struck.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_38-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">\u201c[Her letters] were all positive,\u201d Margaret says, detailing that Jane\u2019s messages read: \u201cI love camp, I love my friends.
