Texas Is Reeling Following Devasting 4th Of July Flood<\/h2>\n

Texas native\u00a0Miranda Lambert can\u2019t stand to see her home state hurting, so she\u2019s planning a benefit concert to help in a time of need.<\/p>\n

On July 4th, a catastrophic flood tore through the Texas Hill Country, leaving devastation and destruction in its wake.\u00a0A July 13 report from\u00a0USA Today<\/em>\u00a0states that the death toll has climbed to 132.<\/strong><\/p>\n

27 of those killed by the flood were campers or counselors at\u00a0Camp Mystic. The camp is located along the Guadalupe River, which, according to\u00a0NBC News<\/em>, surged up to 26 feet in mere minutes.<\/p>\n

As Texans continue searching for those lost in the flood, stories of heroism have emerged. A Coast Guard rescue swimmer named \u00a0Scott Ruskan\u00a0has been credited with saving 165 people.<\/p>\n
