Seven people were rushed to hospital on Monday afternoon after a small plane crashed down and collided with a car on a\u00a0Florida<\/span>\u00a0road in\u00a0Palm Beach County.<\/p>\n

The plane struck the roof of the car while shortly after taking off from nearby Lantana Airport just after 4:30pm.<\/p>\n

According to the flight\u2019s path on Flight Aware, the aircraft had just taken off but only managed to reach an altitude of 100 feet before crashing back down one minute later.<\/p>\n

Two people were on board the plane and four children and one adult were inside the Honda Civic when the aircraft made impact.<\/p>\n

All seven were transported to local hospitals, with two victims classified as trauma alerts and the remaining five taken in for precautionary evaluation.<\/p>\n

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) released a statement, identifying the aircraft as an Orlican M8 Eagle<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue (PBCFR) was dispatched to a reported airplane incident at the 3800 block of Lake Osborne Drive near Cochran Drive.<\/p>\n

Officials said the plane\u2019s front end was \u2018completely demolished\u2019 in the crash, while the car sustained only minor damage \u2013 an outcome that stunned first responders given the potential for catastrophic injuries.<\/p>\n

Incredibly, there was no fire or fuel leak. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by authorities with the Palm Beach Sheriff\u2019s Office leading the inquiry.<\/p>\n
