Yungblud\u00a0has paid homage to late\u00a0Black Sabbath\u00a0icon\u00a0Ozzy Osbourne\u00a0\u2013 see what he had to say about the metal innovator below.<\/p>\n

The death of the heavy metal pioneer and iconic Black Sabbath frontman was announced on Tuesday (July 22). His family said in a statement that the 76-year-old music icon was \u201csurrounded by love\u201d at the time of his passing.<\/p>\n

It came shortly after he\u00a0took to the stage for the huge \u2018Back To The Beginning\u2019 gig\u00a0in Birmingham on July 5 \u2013 marking his final show both as a solo artist and with Black Sabbath. While a cause of death has not been revealed, Ozzy had notably been\u00a0dealing with a myriad of health issues for numerous years,\u00a0including being diagnosed with Parkinson\u2019s Disease in 2019.<\/p>\n

Following the news of Ozzy\u2019s devastating passing, Yungblud \u2013 who has famously looked up to Osbourne and was outspoken about his admiration for the metal legend \u2013 took to social media to pay homage.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m trying to compute the last couple days and honestly I\u2019m fucking shattered,\u201d Yungblud began. \u201cYou have been my North Star for everything for as long as I can remember from when I was misunderstood as a child to the way people thought I was just a little \u2018too much\u2019 or \u2018strange\u2019 in my life and career.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI owe so much to you, your wife and your family \u2013 you all gave me a road to run down and supported me when people would turn their nose up,\u201d he continued. \u201cYou loved life so much and you adored music. It was your smile man. You taught me it was beautiful to be out of the box. I promise you with all my heart I will try my best and make it my life\u2019s journey to keep the spirit that you started and what you have taught me alive. I will give it my best shot.\u201d<\/p>\n

Referencing his\u00a0Ozzy-approved cover of \u2018Changes\u2019\u00a0that\u00a0he performed at the \u2018Back To The Beginning\u2019 show earlier this month, Yungblud added: \u201cTo sing this song for you at an event surrounded by legends inspired by you to a crowd who loved you was truly my life\u2019s greatest honour and I vow to play this song every night for the rest of my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

He concluded his touching tribute with a shoutout to Ozzy\u2019s late guitarist Randy Rhoads: \u201cYou\u2019re my hero in every regard. I hope you\u2019re up there avin a drink with Randy. For the Prince of Darkness you sure brought all the light to the world. I love you Ozzy.\u201d<\/p>\n
