Brooke Hogan, the daughter of late wrestling icon\u00a0Hulk Hogan<\/span>, has spoken out after choosing not to attend his funeral on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Hogan\u2019s devastated friends and family gathered<\/span>\u00a0at the Indian Rocks Baptist Church in Largo,\u00a0Florida<\/span>\u00a0to say their final goodbyes to the\u00a0WWE<\/span> legend after his death from a cardiac arrest at age 71.<\/p>\n

However, Brooke, who\u00a0shared a tense relationship with her dad\u00a0<\/span>towards the end of his life, did not attend the service. Instead, she took the personal decision to celebrate her father\u2019s life in her own private way.<\/p>\n

\u2018My father hated the morbidity of funerals. He didn\u2019t want one,\u2019 Brooke, 37, explained on Instagram Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

\u2018And although I know people grieve in many ways \u2013 and I\u2019m so grateful for all celebrations and events organized to honor him, as his daughter, I had to make my own decision to honor him the best way I knew how\u2026privately\u2026the way that made me feel the closest to him. The only thing missing today was him in is pop up lawn chair watching the waves\u2026 and the sunset.\u2019<\/p>\n

Alongside her emotional caption, the TV personality, who welcomed twins \u2013 a boy and a girl \u2013 wither her husband, ex-NHL player Steven Oleksy in January, shared a series of touching photos of the young family.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the day, Brooke had announced that she would be taking her children to Hogan\u2019s \u2018favorite place\u2019, the beach. And her carousel of photos, showed the twins, Oliver\u00a0Andrew and Molly Gene, frollicking in the water as she and Oleksy held them along the shore.<\/p>\n

\u2018Daddy, we honored you in the simplest, most genuine way that agreed with my soul. We took our babies to the beach, and put them in the same salty waters you loved,\u2019 she continued.<\/p>\n

\u2018Molly loved the water. I think she\u2019ll be a \u201clittle fish\u201d as you called me. We love you and honor the things that made you so special. Every grain of sand and every wave reminded me of being your beach baby, and brought us closer to you. I pray you are at peace and know how dearly I love you.<\/p>\n

\u2018Rest in heaven, Daddy\"\u2764\ufe0f\"\u2019<\/p>\n

It was revealed last week that Brooke, who is the daughter of Hogan and his ex-wife Linda,\u00a0would not inherit a single dime from his will.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Hulk welcomed Brooke as well as son Nick, 35, with Linda \u2013 whom he was married to from 1983 to 2009.<\/p>\n

He later tied the knot with Jennifer McDaniel in 2010 until their divorce in 2021. Two years later, the WWE legend said \u2018I do\u2019 to Sky Daily and the pair were married up until his death.<\/p>\n

Shortly after his wife\u2019s own tribute, Oleksy, who is best known for his stints with the\u00a0Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins, shared his own touching message to his late father-in-law.<\/p>\n

\u2018While I may not have been part of the journey from the very beginning, I was fortunate to witness the kind of love my wife had for you\u2014a love so powerful it set a bar I can only hope to reach as I begin my own journey as a father to our daughter,\u2019 his open letter, addressed to \u2018sir,\u2019 read in part.<\/p>\n

\u2018It was deep, unwavering, and beautifully raw. Through good times and bad, she loved you with everything she had. Her mission in life was to protect you. That kind of love doesn\u2019t fade.\u2019<\/p>\n

Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, died from a cardiac arrest on July 24 and was also fighting leukemia at the time of his passing. He had been taken ill at his home in Clearwater, Florida before being pronounced dead in hospital.<\/p>\n

By then, Hogan had gone years without speaking to Brooke and, according to Oleksy, had \u2018no interest\u2019 in meeting his daughter\u2019s twins.<\/p>\n

The family rift spilled into the open earlier this year , when Hogan\u2019s ex-wife Linda branded him a \u2018complete liar\u2019 and a \u2018sex addict\u2019, while Brooke claimed she was \u2018verbally and mentally abused\u2019 during her childhood.<\/p>\n

And earlier this month, Oleksy has opened up on why Brooke turned away from her dad.<\/p>\n

Hogan married his third wife, Daily, in 2023. Brooke did not attend the wedding but her husband\u00a0told PEOPLE\u00a0that it was \u2018not the case at all\u2019 that Brooke cut communications because she disapproved of the relationship.\u00a0In fact, Oleksy accused Hogan of pushing that false narrative.<\/p>\n

\u2018My wife will say it \u2014 it had nothing to do with his new wife. It had to do with the way he treated (Brooke),\u2019 Oleksy said. \u2018It was a situation where she loved her dad very, very much.\u2019<\/p>\n

But Oleksy claimed that Brooke paid a heavy price for standing by her father,\u00a0who was caught at the center of several scandals \u2013 including when he used racial slurs in reference to her ex-boyfriend. That support had \u2018really taken a toll on her,\u2019 her husband said.<\/p>\n

Oleksy and Brooke tied the knot in June 2022 without Hogan. Oleksy claims that the wrestling legend told him he \u2018 doesn\u2019t do weddings or funerals anymore.\u2019<\/p>\n

And the final straw, according to Oleksy, was a \u2018series of phone calls\u2019 between father and daughter when \u2018 there were some things said, and a lot of mistruths.\u2019<\/p>\n

Following Hogan\u2019s death, Brooke\u00a0released a heartbreaking statement<\/span>\u00a0in which she said she \u2018had to step away to protect my heart.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018My dad\u2019s blood runs through my veins. His eyes shine through my children. And our bond has never broken, not even in his final moments.\u2019<\/p>\n

She continued: \u2018We had a connection deeper than words, one that spanned lifetimes. I am so grateful I knew the real version of him. Not just the one the world viewed through a carefully curated lens.<\/p>\n

\u2018We shared a quiet, sacred bond, one that could be seen and felt by anyone who witnessed us together. When he left this earth, it felt like part of my spirit left with him. I felt it before the news even reached us.\u2019<\/p>\n

Towards the end of his life, Brooke claimed, Hogan \u2018made a choice to walk the path that clearly tore at his spirit,\u2019 adding that she \u2018felt a disconnect. What followed were respectful disagreements that took an emotional toll on me.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018During the last two years, I had to step away to protect my heart. My husband stayed open, quietly reaching out to my dad without me knowing, trying to find a safe way back in for me. After my father passed, I read those messages, some answered, some ignored\u2026 but all of them broke my heart.\u2019<\/p>\n

She insisted: \u2018We never had a \u201cbig fight.\u201d My father and I never \u201cfought.\u201d It was a series of private phone calls no one will ever hear, know, or understand.\u2019<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Brook won\u2019t be left anything in her father\u2019s will .<\/p>\n

According to TMZ , the 37-year-old feared being caught up in a bitter financial battle in the wake of her father\u2019s death and didn\u2019t trust anyone in his inner circle.<\/p>\n

So she asked to be removed as a beneficiary of his estate in 2023 \u2013 the same year as her final conversation with the wrestling icon.<\/p>\n
