Expecting a boy, she delivered Adam on September 21 despite very low amniotic fluid. He was born bruised and marked; doctors quickly diagnosed Cutis Marmorata Telangiectatica Congenita (CMTC), a rare vascular malformation with only about 500 documented cases.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"607\" data-end=\"929\">Adam passed initial brain and heart tests and soon went home. In the weeks that followed, most specialist visits were normal. Andrea and her husband dove into research, attended medical conferences\u2014even discovering many clinicians hadn\u2019t heard of CMTC\u2014and committed to raising awareness and connecting with other families.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"931\" data-end=\"1173\">Their biggest fear was whether Adam would blend in. Today, he\u2019s thriving\u2014playing sports, making friends, and keeping up with his peers.
