Brandon Blackstock Passed Away On August 7 After Battling Cancer For Years<\/h2>\n

As\u00a0Reba McEntire\u00a0and Kelly Clarkson mourn a monumental loss, they\u2019ve received a comforting message from\u00a0Dolly Parton, who\u2019s sadly experienced her share of heartache this year.<\/p>\n

Reba McEntire married Narvel Blackstock in 1989, and he also worked as her manager. Narvel had three children from his previous marriage, including his then-12-year-old son, Brandon. Together, Narvel and Reba welcomed\u00a0their son, Shelby,\u00a0in 1990.<\/p>\n

Although Reba and Narvel divorced in 2015, she and Brandon remained close.<\/strong> She said she never considered him to be her stepson, but rather,\u00a0viewed him as her own \u201cblood.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brandon followed in his dad\u2019s footsteps and worked as a talent manager in the country music industry. He worked with several high-profile clients, including\u00a0Blake Shelton,\u00a0Rascal Flatts, and Kelly Clarkson.<\/p>\n

Brandon and Kelly married in 2013 and shared two children. Brandon also had two older kids from his previous marriage.<\/p>\n

Kelly and Brandon split in 2020. We\u2019ve since learned that a few years later, Brandon was diagnosed with cancer.<\/p>\n

Brandon Blackstock passed away on Thursday, August 7, at the age of 48.<\/strong>\u00a0His family shared that he had been battling cancer for three years. Later, the Silver Bow County Coroner confirmed\u00a0Brandon\u2019s cause of death\u00a0was melanoma.<\/p>\n
