On June 14, 2025, tragedy struck in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, when 12-year-old Abigail \u201cAbby\u201d Gillon and her best friend were critically injured in an electric scooter accident. The girls fell from the scooter and were struck by a vehicle on Lehr Boulevard in Aston Township. While both were rushed to the hospital in critical condition, Abby sadly passed away two days later on June 16 from severe traumatic brain injuries.<\/p>\n

Her mother, Lori Kralle, described the loss as unbearable, calling Abby her \u201cbest friend\u201d and only daughter. Family and friends have rallied behind Kralle, launching a GoFundMe to cover funeral expenses and creating an online memorial filled with tributes, photos, and cherished memories. Abby is remembered as a bright, spirited girl who loved cheerleading, swimming, and time with her loved ones.<\/p>\n

In the wake of her passing, the family has turned grief into action by advocating for \u201cAbby\u2019s Law\u201d \u2014 a bill that would impose stricter e-scooter regulations in Pennsylvania. Meanwhile, Abby\u2019s friend Bella Jones continues a long and difficult recovery. With multiple fractures, a wired jaw, and extensive rehabilitation ahead, her family has also launched a fundraiser to help cover medical costs.
