Grief reshaped my life in ways I never anticipated. After losing my family in a tragic house fire, I found myself clinging to the only thing that felt manageable\u2014baking. I didn\u2019t set out to become \u201cthe girl who baked pies for strangers,\u201d but working in the kitchen kept my hands busy and helped my heart hold together when everything else had fallen apart.<\/p>\n

It started in the shelter\u2019s kitchen after the fire took my parents and grandfather. I had nowhere to go except a youth shelter, and even my aunt couldn\u2019t take me in.
