Bert and Edna\u2019s Last Great Adventure<\/strong><\/p>\n

On a quiet Sunday evening, Bert and Edna, married for fifty-five years, sipped lukewarm tea on their porch. Out of nowhere, Edna asked what was left on their bucket lists. Bert chuckled, saying at eighty-seven, his main goal was remembering where he left his pants. But then he surprised her: \u201cI\u2019ve always wanted to go skydiving.\u201d Edna nearly spilled her tea. \u201cYou faint tying your shoes!\u201d she gasped. Bert just grinned. \u201cIf I fall, I\u2019ll haunt the neighbor.\u201d<\/p>\n

The confession opened the floodgates. Edna admitted she\u2019d sabotaged his recliner with a spatula after he ruined her favorite curtains back in \u201989\u2014and that she\u2019d secretly rigged the remote to switch to Hallmark movies as payback. Bert laughed until he wheezed, then shared one of his own: those long \u201cfishing trips\u201d were actually secret bowling tournaments. He\u2019d even won four trophies, all hidden behind the water heater. The two sat in stunned amusement before bursting into laughter, realizing that even after half a century, they were still full of surprises.<\/p>\n

They decided to start fresh\u2014no secrets, no grudges, just new adventures. Edna bought Bert a brand-new recliner. Bert finally went skydiving (and survived). St. Peter welcomed them to paradise\u2014endless golf, heavenly buffets, and no cholesterol.
