Warning signs may include <strong data-start=\"649\" data-end=\"676\">non-healing mouth sores<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"678\" data-end=\"711\">pain or difficulty swallowing<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"713\" data-end=\"728\">loose teeth<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"730\" data-end=\"741\">earache<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"743\" data-end=\"775\">numbness in the lips or face<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"781\" data-end=\"805\">red or white patches<\/strong> on the mouth or tongue. While these symptoms can also result from other conditions, it\u2019s important not to ignore them, especially if they persist.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"956\" data-end=\"1442\">The primary causes of oral cancer include <strong data-start=\"998\" data-end=\"1013\">tobacco use<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1015\" data-end=\"1026\">smoking<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"1032\" data-end=\"1065\">excessive alcohol consumption<\/strong>. The disease progresses through four stages, starting with small, localized tumors and advancing to widespread growth affecting surrounding tissues and organs. Treatment depends on the stage but generally includes <strong data-start=\"1280\" data-end=\"1291\">surgery<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1293\" data-end=\"1314\">radiation therapy<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1316\" data-end=\"1332\">chemotherapy<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"1338\" data-end=\"1363\">targeted drug therapy<\/strong>, often used in combination to destroy cancer cells and prevent their return.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1444\" data-end=\"1834\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Experts emphasize that <strong data-start=\"1467\" data-end=\"1522\">80% of mouth cancer cases are linked to tobacco use<\/strong>, and the average age of diagnosis is around 50. However, early detection and treatment can increase survival rates up to <strong data-start=\"1644\" data-end=\"1651\">82%<\/strong>.
