Former FBI Co-Deputy Director Dan Bongino responded sharply to remarks by former President Barack Obama, issuing what some interpreted as a warning during a recent episode of his podcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know things too, Mr. President, and so do you,\u201d Bongino said, reacting to Obama\u2019s comments about the role of government and the justice system.<\/p>\n

Obama made his remarks during an appearance on\u00a0The Late Show with Stephen Colbert<\/em>, where he warned against the politicization of law enforcement and prosecutorial decisions. He said the government should not be used to target political opponents.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe can\u2019t \u2026 have a situation in which whoever is in charge of the government starts using that to go after their political enemies,\u201d Obama said. He also emphasized that the White House should not direct the attorney general on specific prosecutions.<\/p>\n

Bongino criticized those comments on his podcast, linking them to his own claims about investigations into Russian interference in the 2016 election. He said he would not allow Obama\u2019s remarks to go unanswered.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I\u2019m not letting you get away with this, no chance!\u201d Bongino said.<\/p>\n

Bongino has previously discussed what he describes as \u201cRussiagate\u201d materials and has claimed that documents discovered during his time at the FBI could shed light on what he calls the \u201cweaponization\u201d of government institutions.<\/p>\n

His comments come after he recently said he feared for his safety if Democrats regain control of Congress, adding to the intensity of his public statements.<\/p>\n

Bongino served in the Secret Service\u2019s Presidential Protective Division during Obama\u2019s presidency and later became a vocal critic of the administration after entering politics and media.<\/p>\n
