But its appearance was more similar to a small radio tag used by researchers to monitor wildlife.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"575\" data-end=\"801\">Such devices can be attached to birds, bats, or small mammals to help scientists study their movements and behavior. The tag may simply have fallen off an animal that had been carrying it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"803\" data-end=\"1057\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Instead of touching or moving it, the owner left the object where it was and continued the walk.
