A licensed contractor later inspected the work and confirmed everything had been completed properly.

But the biggest surprise came afterward. The roofer returned $11,000 of my father’s payment and signed a formal agreement to repay the remaining balance. My father’s lawyer documented everything, and I filed a complaint with the state contractor board to ensure the situation was officially recorded.

That evening, the bikers returned, and my father stepped outside in his slippers to thank Bertram. As a former Marine, he proudly said he had never needed anyone to fight his battles. Bertram smiled and explained that nobody had fought anyone; they had simply asked the right question. Watching my father smile again reminded me that sometimes the greatest kindness is simply standing beside someone when they need support.

My eighty-six-year-old father had paid a roofer $17,400, but six weeks later, his roof was still unfinished, construction materials covered his yard,…

[1

post-47258","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news
<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v23.2 -
