Instead of gratitude, the man attacked him, injuring his face.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-2 last:mb-0\">Fortunately, a bystander with a firearm intervened, firing two shots\u2014one to scare the attacker away and another that hit him. Sheriff Jeff Johnson praised the woman as a hero, stating she likely saved Harkness&#8217;s life.
