But when I entered Suzie\u2019s room, I was shocked to find her gone. Only the babies were sleeping, and a note was left behind. My hands shook as I read it: <em>\u201cGoodbye. Take care of them. Ask your mother WHY she did this to me.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A nurse entered, and I asked, \u201cWhere\u2019s my wife?\u201d She hesitated and said Suzie had checked out that morning, leaving without explanation.<\/p>\n<p>Confused and devastated, I left with my daughters, the note still in my hand. When I got home, I confronted my mom, who was holding a casserole. I showed her the note, demanding answers.<\/p>\n<p>She claimed not to know what was going on, but I was furious. I accused her of undermining Suzie, and after some heated exchange, I found a letter from my mom to Suzie: <em>\u201cYou\u2019ll never be good enough for my son. Leave before you ruin their lives.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I rushed to confront my mom. \u201cHow could you?\u201d I shouted. \u201cYou\u2019ve been bullying Suzie all this time, haven\u2019t you?\u201d She looked pale, unable to respond.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As I drove to the hospital, I was thrilled to bring home my daughters.
