Former Representative Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) called President-elect Trump\u2019s comments a \u201cattack on the rule of law\u201d in response to his threat to imprison members of the House committee that looked into the rioting at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.<\/p>\n

According to a statement given to The Hill, Cheney stated, \u201cHere is the truth: Donald Trump attempted to overturn the 2020 presidential election and seize power.\u201d<\/p>\n

He organized a vengeful mob and led them to the US Capitol, where they assaulted law enforcement, broke into the structure, and stopped the official electoral vote counting.<\/p>\n
