Singing janitor Richard Goodall is heading back to Hollywood for the live rounds of America’s Got Talent.
Since Richard Goodall’s stunning performance of “Don’t Stop Believin” by Journey, people near and far have been anticipating the singing janitor’s return to the stage. Goodall says that the whole experience has already exceeded his expectations.
“Yeah, I was just gonna fly on a plane, sing a song, fly home, and maybe be on a YouTube video,” Goodall said. “I can say I got to talk to Simon and Heidi and Howie and Sofia, and if somebody says, ‘ah no way’ here’s the YouTube video that proves it you know.”
Goodall has been engaged to his fiancé Angela Vanoven since 2022. Angela says she knew he was destined for fame before she even met him.
“I’m just so proud of him. I knew he could do it, I heard him sing before I ever met him,” Vanoven said. “We met through a mutual friend, he was singing karaoke and the first words out of my mouth were I think that man needs to be on a star.”
In the time leading up to the trip, Goodall has been the same as always, working his job as a custodian. He says his future endeavors are unknown, but the support has been amazing.
“At the end of the show, I have no idea what’s going to happen, but at the end of the day I am so happy and overjoyed for not just our community or our state, but the surrounding states and people that have just shown overwhelming appreciation,” Goodall said. “It means so much to me from the bottom of my heart, it really does.”
