Led Zeppelin is one of the most famous English rock bands of the ‘60s. They were composed of vocalist Robert Plant, bassist/keyboardist John Paul Jones, guitarist Jimmy Page, and drummer John Bonham.
One of their notable albums is Led Zeppelin IV which sold almost 37 million copies worldwide in 1971. Stairway to Heaven is one of the famous tracks on that album, together with Black Dog and Rock and Roll.
Stairway to Heaven is a tough song to perform since it requires familiarity with the rock genre and a masculine approach which somehow made it hard for female performers to sing.
Apparently, Dolly Parton, a well-known singer, took a huge risk by making her own rendition of the band’s famous hit song.
Every singer knows how crazy it is to cover a song that is totally far from your genre. However, Dolly has successfully eliminated those fears and made a one-of-a-kind version of the song.
The crowd was shocked at first when the guitarist started playing the familiar intro of Stairway to Heaven.
Eventually, her fans can’t just help but be amazed by her performance. This brought some into tears hearing the classic hit performed by their favorite artist, Dolly Parton.
