Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) told Fox News that Democrats fear Kash Patel leading the FBI because he knows “the dirt” on them from the Trump-era Russia collusion investigation. She said Patel would expose secrets and bring needed transparency to Washington.
Blackburn also claimed that Democrats are angry at figures like Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard for working with Republicans on “common sense” policies. She praised RFK Jr.’s nomination for HHS, saying he would help find missing migrant children and reform federal health agencies with figures like Dr. Mehmet Oz and Dr. Jay Bhattacharya.
Bhattacharya, a critic of COVID policies and a plaintiff in the Murthy v. Missouri censorship case, was nominated by Trump to lead the NIH. Trump said he and RFK Jr. would “make important discoveries that will improve health, and save lives.”
Kash Patel, a former federal prosecutor and aide to Rep. Devin Nunes, was key in challenging the FBI’s actions during the 2016 Trump-Russia investigation and co-authored the controversial 2018 Nunes memo.
