Melania Trump Makes History with Bill Signing
In a rare move, First Lady Melania Trump co-signed a bill alongside President Donald Trump during a White House Rose Garden ceremony. The legislation, called the Take It Down Act, aims to combat revenge porn and marks Melania’s first major legislative win, following her lobbying efforts on Capitol Hill.
A Bipartisan Victory for Online Safety
Melania praised the bill as a “national victory” to protect children and families from online exploitation, highlighting the dangers of AI-generated deepfake content. She also urged unity, thanking both Democrats and Republicans for setting politics aside to support the cause.
Support and Recognition Across the Aisle
President Trump credited his wife’s determination and applauded lawmakers, including Senator Ted Cruz and Rep. Maria Salazar, for championing the bill. Victims of revenge porn, invited by Melania to the event, were also recognized during the ceremony.
Be Best Agenda Reignited
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed that Melania will continue focusing on children’s issues through her relaunched Be Best initiative. The new law mandates websites to remove non-consensual explicit images within 48 hours of a formal complaint, strengthening protections for victims.
