Morgan Wallen gave fans an unexpected treat with a rare, impromptu piano performance of Love Somebody. Known for his signature country sound, Wallen stepped away from the guitar to showcase his raw vocals and musicianship in a stripped-down rendition that left the audience in awe. The intimate moment offered a new perspective on the hit song, proving once again why he remains one of the most captivating artists in the genre.

“I didn’t practice this much, but I think it sounds cool,” he admits.

Morgan Wallen surprised fans late Tuesday evening when he shared a rare social media post, giving an impromptu performance of his latest chart-topping single, “Love Somebody” on the piano.

The video opens a bit frantically with Wallen propping up the camera on the opposite side of the room. His hands cover the lens a bit before he gets the phone to sit still.

As he walks into the frame, he says, “Alright, I’m recording this myself. I’m trying to figure out what we’re gonna play on tour. I’m probably not gonna play this on tour, not this version anyway, but I like how it sounds.”

Before beginning to sing, he adds, “I didn’t practice this much, but I think it sounds cool.”

Then, he goes on to deliver a beautiful retention of “Love Somebody.” This version is much more stripped down than the original and showcases his addictive vocals.

The comments section was filled with compliments about his vocals. Some called this version “Perfection” and others admitted the performance left them with “chills.”

At the end of the video, Wallen delivered his signature “Thank YOU” as he does on stage each night on tour.

Alongside the clip, the superstar wrote, “Will not be taking on any more cinematography projects this year as I will be busy doing things I’m hopefully somewhat better at.”

He also poked fun at himself because one of the last times he posted a video like this, he wasn’t wearing shoes and it caused a frenzy of comments about his bare feet. So in the comments section, he quipped, “Wore shoes this time.”

This rare, more personal post was a welcomed moment for fans, as Wallen doesn’t share these kinds of behind-the-scenes glimpses very often.

Morgan Wallen – Love Somebody

Released in October, “Love Somebody” showcases Wallen experimenting with new sounds, incorporating Latin-inspired influences throughout the track.

“’Love Somebody’ is a little bit of a new approach lyrically and sonically,” he shared in a statement. “I wanted to try something different, with what I wanted to talk about, how I wanted it to sound, and we were inspired by Latin-leaning influences. I’m really excited about this song and pumped that it is out.”

The song recently reached No. 1 at country radio, marking Wallen’s 17th chart-topping hit. Co-written by Wallen alongside John Byron, Ashley Gorley, Jacob Kasher Hindlin, Elof Loelv, and Ryan Vojtesak, “Love Somebody” was produced by Joey Moi and Charlie Handsome.

Fans are counting down the days until Morgan Wallen embarks on his 2015 I’m The Problem Tour. This upcoming trek will be the only opportunity to see Wallen live this year along with his  inaugural Sand In My Boots Festival.

Joining the East Tennessee native on the tour will be a rotating lineup of artists, including Brooks & Dunn, Miranda Lambert, Thomas Rhett and Koe Wetzel join in direct support with Gavin Adcock, Corey Kent, Ella Langley and Anne Wilson.

“We made so many lifelong memories on the One Night at A Time World Tour, and I cannot begin to express how grateful I am for my fans and the way they showed up each night,” Wallen shared. “As I’ve been working on new music, it has inspired me to get back on the road and share these new songs with each of you on the I’m The Problem Tour. See y’all there.”
