Phoebe Kannisto, a mother of six boys in Cheektowaga, New York, faced criticism and bullying from both children and adults because all her sons had long hair.
The boys, ranging from five-year-old triplets to a ten-year-old, grew their hair out for a special reason: to donate it to the nonprofit organization Children with Hair Loss. The family lost a close family friend to cancer, and the boys were deeply affected by the tragedy.
Despite facing judgment and unkind words, the boys persevered in growing their hair, eventually donating a total of 17 feet of hair.
