Tate McRae delivers a stunning acoustic rendition of Post Malone and Morgan Wallen’s hit “I Had Some Help” during soundcheck in San Francisco, putting her own unique spin on the song with heartfelt vocals and raw emotion.

Known for her hits like “greedy” and “exes,” country is a genre that pop princess Tate McRae has yet to try out during her illustrious career in the music industry thus far. Well, that is before she showed attendees at her San Francisco tour stop that she listens to maybe some country tunes every once in a while, notably Post Malone and Morgan Wallen‘s chart-topping tune, “I Had Some Help.”

Currently in the midst of her Think Later Tour, McRae spent last night (June 9) at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, California. Looking oh-so casual in a baggy tee shirt and shorts, the “run for the hills” singer took the stage before her big night to sing some of her favorite songs — as well as answer questions from fans — during soundcheck. Naturally, McRae shocked attendees when she started singing “I Had Some Help,” with a great deal of the audience unfamiliar that she even knew the tune.

Rather than trying to delve into the country music community — something that stars like Beyoncé and Machine Gun Kelly are guilty of — McRae gave the tune her own twist. Pulling the lyrics up on her phone, she delivered a stunning acoustic rendition of “I Had Some Help,” jam-packed with her signature Tate McRae style, rather than mimicking the likes of Posty and Wallen.

Needless to say, fans were impressed by her cover, as well as her overall versatility:

“THIS IS SOO GOOD OMGG”

“She loves Posty and I love her for it”

“She can literally sing anything”

Whether or not she decides to delve into the country music community is still to be determined, but for the sake of individuals all across the globe, we cannot help but hope that she stays true to herself and her signature Tate McRae style. You know what they say: If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
