DOJ Investigates Biden Pardons Issued via Autopen
Incoming DOJ pardon attorney Ed Martin has launched an investigation into the Biden administration’s alleged misuse of the presidential autopen to issue pardons in its final days. Martin revealed that the probe began weeks ago while he was still interim U.S. Attorney for D.C., and a whistleblower with ties to the 2020 Biden campaign has come forward with serious allegations.
Key Biden Insiders Named in Probe
The whistleblower identified five individuals allegedly involved in controlling access to the autopen for personal gain: Ron Klain, Anita Dunn, Robert Bauer, Steve Ricchetti, and First Lady Jill Biden. Martin said more names could be added as the investigation continues and legal teams have already been retained by some parties of interest.
Concerns Over Biden’s Role in Key Decisions
The probe follows concerns that Biden’s cognitive health may have prevented him from personally making key decisions. Critics point to documents bearing his signature while he was on vacation, a lack of memory about policy decisions, and speculation that staffers may have signed documents on his behalf as evidence of a deeper issue.
Congress Demands Answers Amid Health Concerns
In response, House Republicans are seeking testimony from Biden’s former physician and senior aides about the president’s health and decision-making. Oversight Committee Chair James Comer called it a “historic scandal” and suggested legislation may be needed to ensure transparency around a president’s fitness to serve.
