President Donald Trump has withdrawn his nomination of Dr. Janette Nesheiwat for Surgeon General, replacing her with Dr. Casey Means, a health entrepreneur with ties to Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. The decision came shortly before Nesheiwat’s scheduled Senate confirmation hearing, after questions surfaced about her medical credentials and past support for COVID-19 vaccinations.
Concerns were raised when it was revealed Nesheiwat listed the University of Arkansas as the source of her M.D. on LinkedIn, despite earning her degree from the American University of the Caribbean. Independent journalist Anthony Clark first reported the discrepancies, prompting opposition from conservative activists like Laura Loomer. Nesheiwat later stated she would continue working on health policy in a senior role under Secretary Kennedy.
Meanwhile, Trump’s approval rating has surged to 53%, according to a new J.L. Partners/Daily Mail poll. The increase includes a notable 13-point jump among voters aged 18–29, and gains among Democrats, independents, and Black voters. This boost follows widespread media criticism of his recent appointments and policy messaging.
Business confidence also appears to be rising. A Freedom Economy Index survey found many small business owners now expect economic growth this year. Consultant TaChelle Lawson told Fox News Digital that Trump’s focus on streamlining business policy earns him a “solid B+” — though she noted his public messaging could use refinement.
