What began as a honeymoon in the scenic Meghalayan hills has turned into a chilling murder case. Sonam Raghuvanshi, who recently married Raja Raghuvanshi, is now the prime suspect in his brutal killing. Raja’s body was found in a forest near a machete, revealing what police say was a premeditated crime.
Sonam was arrested after turning herself in at a roadside eatery in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. Alongside her, four others—including her alleged lover Raj Kushwaha and three young men accused of being hired killers—are also in custody. The group is being transported to Meghalaya for further investigation.
According to authorities, Sonam orchestrated the murder with the help of Raj, who worked as an accountant at her office. The other accused include a student, an unemployed man, and a young acquaintance. None of them have prior criminal records, making the case even more puzzling.
The Meghalaya police are now reconstructing the sequence of events to understand what happened during the couple’s supposed honeymoon. Autopsy reports show Raja died from two major head injuries, confirming suspicions of a violent, planned attack. The investigation continues as all suspects are taken to the crime scene.
