Chef Bobby Flay is heartbroken. His friend and Worst Cooks in America co-host, Anne Burrell, has passed—and no recipe could prepare him for this kind of loss. Bobby called her “unforgettable,” not just for her wild hair or bold jokes, but for her spirit, her laugh, the way she lit up every room. Through tears, he shared the greatest gift she gave him…

Chef Bobby Flay Mourns Worst Cooks In America Co-Host Anne Burrell While Revealing ‘Greatest Gift’ She Ever Gave Him

The celebrity chef community is continuing to mourn the shocking loss of one of their own.

The news of chef Anne Burrell‘s death has rocked Food Network fans and chefs alike. Many friends and colleagues have taken to social media to pay their respects, now including her former co-star Bobby Flay.

Bobby was one of many chefs who joined Anne as co-host at one point during Worst Cooks in America. While Anne was on the show for almost its entire run beginning in 2010 (minus the most recent season that premiered earlier this year), Bobby starred as her competitor for four seasons, and it’s a time he’ll never forget.

He shared on his Instagram Story on Wednesday:

“Worst Cooks in America was the funnest show on TV. All of your co-hosts (me included) were just alongside for the Anne Burrell ride.”

But there’s something else about his friend he’ll remember and cherish even more, the Beat Bobby Flay star explained:

“The greatest gift I got from AB was turning me on to a world of Maine Coon Cats (including Nacho)… a gift that I’ll have forever #unforgettable”

Aw! He posted the tribute along with a photo of Anne with two adorable cats. Nacho was one of Bobby’s beloved cats who sadly passed in 2023. He also has two other cats named Stella and Canelo. How sweet Anne passed her love of the feline breed to him, and what a special way he can always remember her!

Anne’s story just keeps getting sadder. We learned the 55-year-old was found unresponsive by her husband, Stuart Claxton, early on Tuesday morning lying on the floor in the shower of her Brooklyn home. She was last seen by Stuart at around 1 a.m. after performing in an improv show the night before. The New York Fire Department told Page Six they received a call about a cardiac arrest, but an official cause of death has not been confirmed at this time.

She was so young with so much left still to do. Such a tough loss for all her friends and family. R.I.P.
