Jelly Puts God Center Stage With Brandon Lake During CMA Fest

Jelly then surprised fans with Christian singer Brandon Lake to perform their powerful duet, “Hard Fought Hallelujah.”

The two brought the crowd to moments of raising their hands in worship as a lit up cross appeared above.

“We love you Lord, thank you for letting us testify tonight at the CMA Fest Father God,” Jelly exclaimed to the crowd.

Brandon previously shared that he wanted to collaborate with Jelly on the hit because of Jelly’s undeniable testimony for the Lord.

“I wanted to share this song with somebody that had a really beautiful and hard-fought story, and the first person that came to mind was Jelly,” Lake shared in a KLOVE interview.

Jelly’s inspiring story is a powerful narrative of redemption; as he was incarcerated as a teenager for selling drugs and later charged with armed robbery.

“Hard Fought Hallelujah” Continues To Minister To Countless Lives

Jelly and Brandon have had the opportunity to share the Lord with hundreds of thousands of people through their duet, and have been incredibly blessed doing so.

The two recently won Song of the Year at the K-LOVE Fan Awards, and in a surprise speech to Brandon, Jelly shared his testimony of going from incarceration to award shows.

“Man, what a beautiful story man, from a jail cell to a K-Love Award, that is something only God can do himself,” Jelly Roll said. “Brandon, thank you for letting me be a part of this record. Thank you to the fans for voting. Thank you for K-Love for taking a chance on this record and adding my version, and just championing it. I don’t take this lightly at all.”

In April 2025, the two performed “Hard Fought Hallelujah” to a crowd of nearly 75,000 fans during Stagecoach Music Festival, and the moment left Brandon in awe.

“WHAT JUST HAPPENED?!!! 🤯🤯🤯,” he said “I don’t even know how to process all that just went down. Something wild is happening I wish I could tell each of you about. God’s so kind. As unforgettable as the moments on stage were, I’m thankful mostly for all the profound convos backstage. Hoping we get the invite back after how you all responded to last night. That was wild!!!”
