Durham’s Drowning: State of Emergency in North Carolina

As streets and homes are flooded by the torrential rain, downtown Durham is becoming a river. Residents are sharing terrifying videos of neighborhoods disappearing under water, cars being swallowed whole, and people trapped on roofs. Many areas are inaccessible to emergency personnel, and the rain is still falling.

This flood isn’t your typical one. It’s survival.

Authorities are advising everyone to remain stationary and practice resource conservation. Several blocks are already experiencing power outages. Nevertheless, it is hardly covered by the national media.
