A PORTRAIT OF CONFIDENCE

Yesterday I posted a picture that featured 69 year old Gayle King on the cover of Sports Ilustrated Swimsuit edition. I thought she looked great.

Many women did not. The major issue was the degree to which the cover had been photoshopped. It seems “authenticity” is very important when marketing to women. You don’t just want to see older women represented in magazines, you want to see their “realness.”

So in the spirit of that feedback, I have posted a few swimsuit shots of myself that are totally raw and unretouched. This is what a woman in her late 80s looks like in the harsh light of day, strolling through the Las Vegas desert in her bathing suit. No filters, no photoshop, no makeup artists, no lighting team.

I hope this inspires you to “embrace the skin that you are in” and to wear that bathing suit proudly this summer.
