Former President Donald Trump has accused Kamala Harris of engaging in illegal activity during her 2024 presidential campaign, particularly involving questionable financial decisions and celebrity endorsements. In a Truth Social post, Trump claimed the Harris campaign ended with tens of millions in debt, despite raising over $1 billion in less than 80 days after becoming the Democratic nominee.
Trump cited a controversial incident where Beyoncé was reportedly paid $11 million for an endorsement but never performed at a Houston rally, causing attendees to leave. He alleged that similar payments were made to Al Sharpton and Oprah Winfrey for “absolutely nothing,” calling such transactions illegal under campaign finance laws.
He emphasized that “paying for an endorsement is not allowed” and claimed the campaign’s financial disclosures were misleading. Trump warned that if politicians began paying celebrities for endorsements, it would lead to widespread chaos and legal violations.
The Harris campaign has not responded publicly to Trump’s claims, which have not yet been backed by formal legal action. However, Trump ended his post by declaring that Harris and anyone who accepted endorsement funds had “violated the law” and should face consequences.
