In a recent Truth Social post, President Donald Trump accused pop star Beyoncé and other celebrities of illegally receiving millions to support Kamala Harris’ 2024 presidential campaign. Trump claimed Beyoncé was paid around $11 million to appear at a rally without performing, causing the crowd to boo. He also alleged that Rev. Al Sharpton and Oprah Winfrey received $600,000 and $3 million respectively, calling the payments illegal endorsements.
Harris’ campaign strongly denied the accusations. A spokesperson refuted the viral rumor about Beyoncé’s alleged $10 million payout, stating that she participated as a concerned mother, not a paid celebrity. Federal Election Commission (FEC) records show Beyoncé’s media company received only about $165,000, while Oprah’s Harpo Productions and Sharpton’s organization were paid significantly less than Trump claimed.
Trump’s accusations have not been backed by any evidence or official investigation. News outlets, including Newsweek, have reported the claims as unsubstantiated. FEC records do not support Trump’s assertion that the payments were criminal or misreported.
Despite the political uproar, no legal action has been taken, and no official agency has accused Harris or the celebrities of wrongdoing. As of now, Trump’s dramatic claims remain unverified and contradicted by public campaign finance data.
